Hackensack High School |
On January 24, 2013, George Toriello sent me this information on Peter was the only member of the Class of '62 who was KIA. (Vietnam) In our yearbook, the Comet, Peter is listed as living at 17 Oakland Avenue, Emerson. The caption under his yearbook photo described him as someone who loved to eat, talk and tell corny jokes. Dreams for his future included becoming a millionaire, but more likely being a hard working cartoonist. Our school newspaper, the Hackensack Voice, dated June 21, 1962, listed the graduates and their immediate plans. Peter Schryver indicated he planned to attend Frederick College. It is unknown if he actually did go to college there. He had taken the College Prep/Academic courses while in high school.
